QUESTION

I cannot compile the MXIO library sample code because of an “MXIO_NET.dll file missing” error. How can I fix this issue?

SOLUTION

If you encounter an “MXIO_NET.dll file missing” error when you compile the sample code in the MXIO library, copy the MXIO_NET.dll file from the C:\Program Files\Moxa\MXIO_NET\dll directory to the example folder.

  • Ensure that you copy the MXIO_NET.dll file corresponding to the program architecture that you want to build from one of these directories.
      x64 ⇒ C:\Program Files (x86)\Moxa\MXIO_NET\dll\x64\
      x86 ⇒ C:\Program Files (x86)\Moxa\MXIO_NET\dll\Win32\
  • Place the MXIO_NET.dll file in the same folder as the executable file that you want to run.

For example, If you want to build a C# sample program “ActiveTag_Ex” based on the x86 architecture, do the following:

  1. Copy the x86 version of the MXIO.dll file to the following folder:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Moxa\MXIO_NET\example\C#\ioLogik 1200\ Ethernet\ActiveTag_Ex\ bin\ x86\Debug
  2. In Visual Studio, open the Configuration Manager and create a new solution platform called ActiveTag_Ex.

  3. Select the x86 platform and click OK.

  4. Close the Configuration Manager after ensuring that the ActiveTag_Ex project is based on the x86 platform. 4.png
You should now be able to compile and run the MXIO code samples for the ActiveTag_Ex project.
